JUDGES NEEDED!! We are currently searching for judges!! If you are interested in helping out email me (sceaquestrian@yahoo.com). I will provide accomodations on site in one of the cabins for each judge!

In order to reserve the space and lock in a date we need some money up front to reserve the venue. We are asking for donations to raise this money. If you wish to donate please email me at scaequestrian@yahoo.com.

Welcome to the page for Natural State Live, a live model horse show tenatively scheduled for May 22-24 2009!

I am currently working on NAMHSA approval. It will be a double-judged (breed and workmanship) all Custom/Artist Resin show featuring an expanded classlist, vintage classes, and even a fantasy division. It will also have many fun performance classes.

A venue has been selected and I am in the process of collecting funds to reserve it. It is Camp Taloha in Pine Bluff.

 My idea is this...To hold a fun weekend event centered around the show that is all inclusive (food, bed, show, etc) Here is some info on the camp.

 

The camp has a large hall/kitchen to use for the show itself, well lit
and new

It can sleep 25+ people in two climate-controlled cabins (in
existing bunks, more if people bring their airmattresses) with
shower/bathroom facilities and there are girlscout-type cabins (the
ones with half-walls and screens) too that can sleep additional people
if they want

It has a POOL

It has a lake (folks can bring hubby and he can fish)

My husband has agreed to cook meals for us onsite

Show fees (can prolly do it for $60-$75 a head or so) will include
meals and bedspace

We can do a cookout Saturday night at the big pavilion by the lake,
there is a BBQ pit

It would still be a NAN qualifying horse show

We don't have to be out by 5 or 6 on Saturday afternoon

We can start early in the morning because we will be onsite

We don't have to worry about folks wandering through and taking stuff
or breaking things

It would be like a vacation and a model horse show in one, could call
it the Summer Camp or something

There is a hotel within 10 minutes if folks just can't stand to sleep
in the cabins (I did this past weekend and was perfectly comfy and I
had a sinus infection and I also have fibromyalgia)

Show Rules

*Class limits are 3 models per performance class and 4 models per halter class

*Please provide a list (typed, Excel type format, or word processed) of your models, with the following information: tag number, model name, breed, gender, division. You do not have to presubmit this, as turning in a finalized list on showday is preferred to minimize changes.

*Models may not cross enter halter divisions; that is, you cannot show a Paint miniature in both the CM/AR American Pony/Miniature and CM/AR Other Pure division, for example. You may, however, show in both halter and performance, and in fun classes.

*If a judge has customized a model, that model may not be shown under that judge.

*Tags are required for all models shown. Please use white string tags with the number, breed and gender of your model printed clearly and neatly on each tag. Please number your models with a combination of your first, middle, and last initials and a unique number. For example Jane J. Doe would number her first model JJD1 and so on.  

*Alcohol or smoking is not allowed in the show hall at any time. Violators will be asked to leave and may forfeit all show fees and right to participate in the show.

*Performance divisions will adhere to a strict ten minute break in between classes.

*All normal show rules apply: have fun, be a good sport, respect the judges, don't touch other people's models without permission, and ask the showholder if in doubt about anything.

Awards

*Flat ribbons will be awarded for 1^st through 6^th place in each class. Rosettes will be awarded for all Champ/Res classes.

* There are two “Fun Class” divisions. These will be judged by popular vote and will receive ribbons for 1^st through 6^th places and special prizes for the Grand and Reserve Champions.
